Fingerprint data in PDF 417 barcode on ID card, visitor pass, and paycheck The CombiReader can use a PDF-417 barcode printed on an identification card or on a plain piece of paper. Being able to read a piece of paper provides an economic solution to applications, such as issuing biometric-based visitor passes or biometric-secure check cashing. The barcode contains digitally-signed data that includes a name and ID number; three fingerprint templates; and access information, such as valid dates and times. Applications where biometric authentication may be required include:
  • Visitor Badges
    • Heavy paper
    • Light paper
    • Labels
  • Checks
    • Medical aid
    • Pension
    • Welfare
  • Employee ID
    • Print on pay statements
    • Inexpensive, easy to manage
    • Great for high employee turnover
